Punkt, the civic association behind the popular Dobrý trh, is joining forces with Vydrica to host the very first VYDRICA MARKET on Saturday, June 6.
Visitors can look forward to a full day of food, design, community activities, and family-friendly entertainment. For one day, Vydrica’s newly completed streets at the foot of the castle hill will transform into a vibrant urban market featuring local vendors, independent makers, and a diverse public program.
The event brings together Vydrica’s public spaces, neighborhood businesses, local brands, and cultural experiences. The program includes guided historical and architectural tours, children’s theatre, a circus workshop, DJ sets, and creative activities hosted by businesses based in Vydrica.
Among the participants will be Muoi Atelier, offering live clay sculpting demonstrations, and Ost Block, providing DJ sets throughout the day. Visitors will also have the opportunity to take part in a community photo challenge inspired by the concept of urban “color hunting.”
One of the market’s highlights will be the introduction of Gatto Matto’s new concept for Vydrica. During the event, the family-owned restaurant brand will serve freshly prepared tiramisu from a traditional Italian cart while presenting its vision for its future presence in the neighborhood.
Gatto Matto is developing a two-storey venue in Vydrica that will initially operate as a space for pop-up events, tastings, and community gatherings. The permanent dining concept will open once the next phases of the development have been completed.“What attracted us to Vydrica is the way the neighborhood is growing gradually and organically, building its own community and atmosphere along the way. We want to be part of that story from the very beginning and develop our concept together with the place,” says Maxim Blahovec, founder of Gatto Matto.
With Gatto Matto joining the project, all retail spaces in the currently completed phase of Vydrica are now fully leased. Alongside restaurants and cafés, the retail mix will also include services designed to support the neighborhood’s everyday life.
Among the businesses currently preparing to open are Dog Spa, the first premium dog grooming salon under the DNA brand, artisan chocolatier Choco Boss, Bratislava Burger, and Šťuka, a new gourmet delicatessen concept created by the owners of Bistronomy.
The project’s office component, VYDRICA Offices, is now also fully occupied. As companies move in, the administrative spaces will further contribute to the neighborhood’s vitality, creating a lively destination that extends beyond its residential character.
VYDRICA MARKET will take place on Saturday, June 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
