Following our extensive analyses, we were surprised what a gem was hiding among the ruins. This is the Water Tower project that we hope will bring residents closer to the history of their city. The new architectural layer of the 21st century gives functional protection to Bratislava’s oldest history, but puts no limits on the residents of the to be built Vydrica neighbourhood, as it links the two worlds in a completely natural way.
It provides an opportunity to stand face-to-face with historical monuments dating back to the 2nd century, and see history’s stratification in full. Footbridges allow visitors to walk through the site, while the roof provides a location for daily life, resulting in a perfect harmony between residents and visitors.
The history that lies under our feet can be enjoyed in everyday moments.
