The Water Tower is surrounded by a public park and an inner square. The new pavilion is embedded in the ground and its green roof will be a place for meeting and relaxing. From the upper level, there is a splendid view of the Danube, the city skyline and the historical buildings. All parts and levels of the area can be reached on foot from all directions thanks to the interconnected network of paths, ramps, and stairways.
The historical structures can be complemented based on findings from further archaeological research by relevant volumes proposed from “spatial grids”. These additional semi-transparent structures will allow shape to be perceived and the layout is environmentally friendly and reversible. The new complex is low-energy and ecological, with a very low thermal footprint.
