Zolo Kis

He has travelled the world, lived in San Francisco, Mallorca and Thailand, and settled down in Bratislava. Zolo Kis is a successful product and graphic designer with passion for wood. Under his brand, Mr. Wood, he creates original design products, which have attracted attention at home and abroad.

“I did not think about filling a gap in the market. I set up a workshop and I do what I enjoy,” explains Zolo. Nevertheless, he has become a pioneer in his field. His relationship with Bratislava in unique. “It’s great that wherever I go, I always meet someone I know. At least we know each other by sight or just say hello because we know about each other.”

And his most positive emotion recently? “I was waiting for a bus at Blumental. I sat down and then noticed: it’s a solar bench with a phone charger. So I was sitting, charging my phone, I put on my headphones and played some music, I bought an SMS ticket, got on the bus, got off and said to myself: Life here is pretty good!”
