On Thursday, June 5, Vydrica—the new urban district in the heart of Bratislava—transformed into the stage for a truly special fashion event. Slovak designer Michael Kováčik presented his first-ever authorial collection in Bratislava with the AW25 show titled SELF-REFLECTION. We were proud to be a partner of this exceptional event, which filled Vydrica with fashion, emotion, and a unique atmosphere.
A Show with a Powerful Message
The SELF-REFLECTION collection carried a strong message: a return to oneself. In a time when social media and the pursuit of perfection often push our authenticity into the background, Michael Kováčik invited us to look inward, recognize our own boundaries, and find the courage to be honest with ourselves.
The models reflected both vulnerability and the strength of individuality. The 28 timeless pieces were designed and made exclusively in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, supporting local production and a responsible approach to fashion. The collection featured unisex silhouettes and high-quality natural materials, as a clear nod to sustainability.
Diversity, Design, and Distinctive Faces
The runway featured notable personalities such as Kristian Baran, Jakub Švec, Lucia Hlaváčková, Miss Slovakia 2023 Kinga Puhová, and models from PURE MODEL agency, which managed the casting. Diversity was a central part of the show’s concept, both in casting and presentation.
Vydrica as a New Cultural and Urban Hub
Michael Kováčik’s show confirmed that Vydrica is more than just a development project—it’s a vibrant city district with its own story, identity, and a vision to become a new cultural hub of Bratislava.
